WGSS 358: Feminists of Color in the U.S.

Women, Gender & Sexuality Stdy · 5 credits

This course centers the intellectual and political work of feminists of color in the United States. We will learn about the historical experiences, actions, and interpretations of Indigenous North American women and women descended from Africa, Latin America, and Asia. We will also address the contemporary coalitions and concerns of US feminists of color. Our overall goal is to better acquaint ourselves with the work of feminists of color in order to better apprehend what the world looks like from the perspective of those who have historically been most marginalized in multiple spheres, including the discipline of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
