Integrates medical sociology with the field of population health. Explores conceptualizations of health and illness and ways the structure of society shapes health, health outcomes, life and death. The course examines health disparities and patterns across populations, theories about health and illness, and the impact of social processes, policies, and institutions on health and disease.
