SOC 347: Gender and Development

Applies a sociological perspective to gain a better understanding of the consequences of development policies on gender relations in the global South. Critically evaluates how development theory and practice address poverty, health, education, environment, population, domestic-unpaid and paid work. Examines the relationship between women from developed and developing countries in the context of globalization.
