MACS 303: Integrated Marine Science Core: Marine Ecological Processes
Marine science questions can only be fully understood through approaches that integrate knowledge from multiple disciplines. This course focuses on the biological and ecological aspects of marine science, as well as how ecological concepts inform and are informed by geology, chemistry and physics. In this course you will gain understanding of the chemical, physical and biological processes that govern the distribution and abundance of marine organisms. These processes will be explored across various marine ecosystems. Labs will focus on understanding how environmental variability affects population growth and organismal metabolic rates, and evaluating marine biodiversity.
Offered in 6 of the 26 listed terms (Spring 2022 to Spring 2027).
