ESCI 485: Global Environmental Change in the Cryosphere

Environmental Sciences · 5 credits

The cryosphere – the frozen water domain – is rapidly changing as a result of global climate change. Polar ice sheets, high mountain glaciers, and seasonal snowpacks greatly influence the global energy balance and the global climate. This course will explore how changes in climate and anthropogenic activities influence the production and deposition of aerosols, as well as biogeochemical cycling into the water cycle once deposited on the Earth’s surface.

Offered in 5 of the 26 listed terms (Winter 2021 to Spring 2025).
