ENVS 381: Introduction to Education for Eco-Social Justice and Sustainability

An introduction to environmental education, surveying current and emerging forms of theory and practice. Explores education, socialization, policy, and activism at intersections of social justice and socio-ecological systems through experience, reading, reflection, discussion, and project work. Students begin to see as an educator sees, exploring the “why,” “what,” and “how” of education and environmental justice using the lenses of theory, praxis, identity, learners, and different natural and social settings.
