C/AM 441: Society, Space, and Natural Resources

Canadian/American Studies · 4 credits

This course explores geographies of resource extractivism in North America. It is based upon the idea that, at root, natural resources and attendant spaces are produced through political-economic and cultural systems; they are not pre-existing things. The course is designed to enable students to identify how these systems have shaped natural resource geographies at a variety of scales in both the United States and Canada. Also offered as ENVS 441.

Offered in 2 of the 26 listed terms (Fall 2022 to Spring 2025).
